Mother’s Day Gifts

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

My mother and mother-in-law are each receiving a decorative pillow this year. I put two orphaned basket quilt blocks to use, added leaf and yo-yo shaped flower appliques. Just something a little different than the usual gift of candy.

The Boy is Out of the House!

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

Almost! Son #2 bought a house! Fixing it up before he moves in. He and his brother have refinished all the wood floors, three bedrooms, living and dining room. The duct work has been cleaned out. A new furnace will soon be installed. Kitchen needs cleaning up, and he will update the bath. Then I think he will be ready to move in.

Shhhhh!

Friday, July 15th, 2011

I’ve been quiet for a long time! No posting, but I have been enjoying everyone else’s blog! Thanks for all the inspiration & beauty I enjoy when visiting your blogs!

My time this Spring and Summer has in a large part, been consumed by helping my eldest daughter with preparations for her upcoming July 30th wedding. Janelle is a DIY-er and that means thrift store shopping and fabric shopping, and and and lots of running around town and out of town looking for just the right items! Plus she has found many things she wants on Etsy made by other DIY crafty gals. Some of which she bought and then further altered! (And she decided to open up her own Etsy account, which will be empty until after the wedding and honeymoon!)

Some photos for you:

Top photo of table setting at the shower. Bridesmaids set tables with gathered antique linens, luncheon plates and cups, antique cake stands and two or three tier dessert stands for the homemade food. Photo#2 Janelle and me. Photo#3 &4 bridal party.

Spring to Summer

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

This is what our garden looked like a week ago. We had an early morning sleet that did not damage the Spring flowers. And today it is in the 80s. What happened to Spring!?

ends with daughter turning 21!  We Schutts have 7 birthdays between Febuary 23 and April 13th. We celebrated our daughter Janelle’s birthday Monday night, a day early, as she had plans with friends the evening of her 21st birthday. Here are just a few pictures of the celebration.

There are also many of our extented family members celebrating in Feb – April. I think I have counted at least nine more of us celebrating birthdays during this time! So Happy Birthday to all of you!

More Blocks but no OPAM

Monday, March 29th, 2010

I have a big ZERO completed for March for the One Project a Month. Oh well. But I have been working on other projects. That means sometime this year I’ll have several completed quilts. Maybe I should just plan a few small projects a month so as to have something completed to show when the end of the month rolls around!

The is a sneak peak of an idea I’m playing with for a quilt challenge. Three Creative Studios: Passage.

The are a few of the many blocks my daughter has sewn for a bed size quilt she is working on. She is being very diligent!
