oops!

I was happily working along on a postcard, when I decided to fuse the front to the back and the heat from the iron caused the plastic veggie bag to shrink and the whole card curled up. I should have taken a picture of the curled up card – but I attacked it with scissors first to see if I could save it. I was really liking the card before the mishap, now it is just an oops! piece. And maybe it will give you a laugh! I cut out the plastic parts and then recovered just the fiber heart on the left with the more plastic and stitched around it again. But it still curls up too much for my liking.

I don’t know what the card looked like to begin with, but I think it looks good now. I had an art prof in college who would refer to what happened here as a “happy accident”. I have found that philosophy to be helpful over the years as I’ve had quite a few artistic
    accidents, some happier than others.

it looks great! and it has a HEART on it! nice work! oh, i have this great amount of a yellowish substance on the bottom of my iron from some fabric i bought at some random store (NEVER AGAIN) and it turned out to be melting fabric! the stuff is just stuck to the iron, and won’t come off, no matter what i do. at least it doesn’t come off onto the fabric anymore when I iron my stuff. i keep thinking i should just buy a new iron, but what if it happens again, then i’ll get this little collection of used irons going, and i really dont think i need that.
