After MANY years of cursing, I am currently a big fan of the Chi iron. About $65 at Target, has LOTS of steam holes for the price (nothing else compares there) and a 30-minute auto shut-off which is a must for those of us who sew. (I also love Rowenta irons but they no longer make an iron without auto shut-off.). I've considered the Oliso but since a friend's makes an annoying squeak every time it goes up and down and frankly, I'm not convinced the thing won't break like the rest of them. I would stay at a cabin instead of camping but there was a time we would have camped! Glad you found a quilt shop and kept the family joke going - lol! I used to have a Panasonic Cordless and absolutely loved it for the cordless part, but it didn't get hot enough. I ended up with an Oliso, which gets plenty hot, and I love the auto-lift on it, but I've never used the steam part. I do miss the cordless aspect. Thank you for sharing with us at To Do Tuesday!
